Firstly I have to praise JoesToes for their customer service & personal advice on queries. Amanda was even polite when I misread a part of the instructions. Secondly the quality of the felt, the cutting of the various pieces & how they fitted together is excellent. My slippers went together easily & look just as good as the ones on the web site. Once I had all 4 sole pieces correctly aligned the holes in each one superimposed perfectly so the needle just passed though them all with ease. They provided a generous amount of really strong waxed thread. Enough so I wouldn't run out if I made an error. The applique shapes were a little fiddly but I found a dab of Pritt stick kept them in place long enough to get the sewing started. They are really warm & with 3 layers of felt underneath, a lot more cushioned than I expected. Finally, as my feet are a little narrow I found the front of the slipper tops gaped a bit. So I used some of my spare thread, market holes round the edge of the top & ran a line of running stitch in both directions through these. I pulled them tight, not enough to cause the felt to pucker but enough to shrink the opening & I hope also prevent it from stretching with wear. They now fit better round my foot & won't fall off. I'm now asking the family if they want a pair. They choose the colours etc & I'll do the sewing if they don't want to. Thank you Joe's Toes x
